If this sounds like your ideal escape then please leave now! If you prefer a slower pace of island life, relaxing under palm trees watching glorious sunsets and generally chilling out, then Koh Jum is the place for you.
This small, unspoilt tropical hide-away has a unique atmosphere, giving visitors the time to relax and re-charge their batteries surrounded by awesome natural beauty. Translating to "Remember Island", time spent here is certainly not forgotten quickly. Koh Jum still remains without electricity and the use of candles and oil lamps enhances the relaxed, mellow atmosphere of the island. The "Pace Of Life" on Jum has two distinct speeds - slow and stop! |
So, picture yourself, if you can, sitting on the beach or lying in a hammock watching the sun go down over Phi-Phi in the distance. Sound OK? Well, that is how the "People Of Jum" live there lives; relaxed and chilled out. |
You won't find any luxury resorts, swimming pools or air-con rooms in this corner of Thailand. Wooden "Bungalows" lining the beach and sitting among the palms are your home while you stay on the island. There are only a handful of places to stay and all the local people are quite possibly the friendliest in the country. They are not out to make a fortune from a tourist invasion and just live life in their own unique style. Just go with it!
